Consent-Based Equine Bodywork On The Central Coast of California
Bodywork sessions built around your horse
There’s no one size fits all method at FCIE. Every session is built around your horse and their boundaries. Whether we’re maintaining a horse for competition or working through something behavioral, the whole horse is always taken into account – and so are you.
Get the Best Session Fit
What sounds most like your situation?
You're not sure where to start when it comes to bodywork.

You're managing a chronic condition like kissing spine or arthritis.
You've noticed behavioral shifts, emotional changes, or something just "off".
The Assesment
$75 - in person or remote
If you’re new to Full Circle, this is usually where we start. It’s a full-horse evaluation built for owners who aren’t sure bodywork is the right fit yet, or who just want a real, honest read on how their horse is doing before committing to anything more.
Amber evaluates your horse from head to tail and pays attention to what they’re telling her along the way, in person or remotely over video, whichever fits your situation better.
Here's What You'll Get:
- A full-horse evaluation covering posture, movement, and any areas of tension or restriction
- Your choice of in-person or remote (video) format
- A written report of what Amber found and what it means for your horse
- A clear next-step plan based on your horse's individual needs
"I cannot recommend Amber Anderson highly enough. From the first moment she arrived over a year ago, her intuitive and calm connection with Owen was immediately obvious. She takes the time to truly listen to the horse, carefully assessing Owen's needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach."

"My mare was diagnosed with head shaking syndrome. It wasn’t just this syndrome, she was having imbalances and inconsistency that we were unsure of why they were happening. After many diagnostics and treatment trials, I contacted Amber. Amber assessed Windsong and has been working with us using her training and exceptional intuition. Amber’s work is highly professional, collaborative and impactful. The changes in my mare throughout her body are exceptional." "

Frequently Asked Questions
What do you need to know?
When should my horse get bodywork?
Bodywork is beneficial for rehab, injury prevention, stress relief, and maintaining muscle balance and flexibility in healthy horses. Regular bodywork sessions are essential for ongoing maintenance and optimal health.
Do I haul to you or do you travel?
Bodywork sessions are the most effective when the horse is in a relaxed state. While I would love for you to haul to my location, sessions are best performed when I travel to you. Travel fees do apply, but can be waived if you schedule three or more horses in a single day.
How do I prepare my horse for the session?
Please be ready for your scheduled appointment at least 10 minutes prior to the start time unless alternate arrangements have been made. Your horse should be clean, calm, and dry for the session. If the application of kinesiology tape is included in your session, please no fly sprays, wipes, oils or topicals prior to their session.
If needed, Amber is happy to assist with catching horses. However, time spent catching a horse is included in overall scheduled session time. If a horse is known to be difficult to catch or requires additional time, the client is responsible for ensuring the horse is caught and ready prior to the scheduled appointment time, unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Horses should be secured in a quiet, comfortable area of the barn or in their own stall/small pen. To support a relaxed and productive session, please avoid high-traffic or high-commotion areas (e.g., main barn aisles during feeding times).
Do I need to be there for the session?
Typically, I love for you to be there for the first session. This allows us to become familiar with one another, allows you to see the flow of the sessions and ask any questions that may arise. I love to educate and explain what I’m doing, feeling and seeing and how specific techniques are felt through the body and what their purpose is. This also allows the opportunity for you to see reactions, restrictions, tension, etc that you may or may not have known where there and how, through bodywork, we can address those issues to get your horse feeling their best.
After the first session, I am more than happy to work with your horse solo and don’t require that you be there. In fact, you would be surprised that most horses (like kids) act totally different when their owners are not around and the effectiveness of the session is, in most cases, even better. As always, I will provide you with a detailed session report and outline techniques you can utilize between sessions so that you have a clear idea of how the session went, what was found, and what I recommend moving forward.
How do I support my horse after the session?
The best support after a session is gentle movement, so plan for about 10 minutes of hand-walking with turnout to let your horse’s body process what’s been released. If your horse does need to be ridden, keep it as light as possible, since asking for work too soon can bring tension back. Most horses do well with at least one easy day; if yours still seems uncomfortable, give a little more time. For full bodywork sessions, let me know about any upcoming competitions, races, or shows, since the body needs a couple of days afterward to fully integrate the changes.
Can I ride my horse the same day as their appointment?
It’s best to avoid riding your horse the same day as their session. If a day off truly isn’t possible, ride before the appointment rather than after, and make sure your horse is cooled off, dry, and relaxed beforehand, since it’s harder to release tension in muscles that are still warm and active.
How often does my horse need bodywork?
Every horse has unique requirements and responds differently, however, most often I see the best results with sessions scheduled every two to three weeks. In general though, a regular monthly routine meets the needs and objectives of most clients. Establishing a consistent schedule also guarantees a secured slot on my calendar.
I will work with you to customize a personal strategy that works for you, your horse and your budget.
Are there any reasons why my horse shouldn't have bodywork?
Bodywork is meant to support your horse’s comfort, release tension from compensating for pain, and aid healing once the body has moved past an acute issue. Because of this, there are times when it’s best to hold off: acute injury or illness, fever, infectious skin conditions like ringworm or mange, infectious diseases such as strangles or influenza, shock or extreme exhaustion, and pregnancy. If you’re ever unsure whether your horse falls into one of these categories, check with your veterinarian first.
Are you insured?
Making sure your bodyworker is insured is an important part of your vetting process. It makes sure that both you and your partner are protected as well as the bodyworker. I carry full liability insurance coverage as an additional layer to ensure peace of mind.
